We are keen to make contact with all Springgrovians. If you attended Spring Grove anytime during the past 41 years and know that we do not have your details, please get in touch by contacting the school office: office@springgroveschool.co.uk . Alternatively, please complete the details on the feedback form. You are invited to visit us at any time in order to see how your school has changed over the years. We hope that you will be delighted to see the new developments since you left and sense the happy ethos that exists.
In 2008, we celebrated 40 years of education at SG by unveiling a magnificent mosaic created by every member of the school community. The school photograph included at least 100 Springgrovians alongside the present school community.
A significant number of present pupils are sons or daughters of Springgrovians and so we remain a very happy family!

History: I went to St Teresa's then onto St Anselms. From there I went to college and gained a Distinction in Business Studies. I am now a Compliance Officer for Saga. I belive that in the old photos published on here, I may have been in the picture with my brother Thomas Swayne. Also is the wooden play hut still standing? My dad help build this and I think we have some pictures of this!

I have been learning new techs, a wide range of both art and language as well as some good varieties of Science and P.E. I have made some great new friends such as Isaac Pevy, Ben Daburn, Jack Wreathall and Alex Blowers to name just a few. I miss the school greatly even though i have been away for over three years.

I can't believe it's a whole year since I left. Like most retired folk I've filled my time with all the things I didn't have time for when I was working. My beautiful granddaughter keps me occupied 2 days a week as Fiona, like most mums these days, has had to go back to work. Molly Mae is 8 months old and a complete joy. She is, of course the most beautiful and talented baby in the world (!) and I love spending time with her.
On other days I'm involved in happenings in the village and I'm able to see more of my family in Portsmouth.
I see Jill Russell, Ann Garrad, Carole Cooney, Bobby Bushnell, Colin Knowles and Anne Thomas whenever possible and always read the SG Messenger to keep up with events.
Don't forget, old and current Springovians, work hard and play hard, as WJ used to say!!!

When I left SG I decided to become a boarding pupil at St Edmunds in Canterbury which was a bit of a change but I feel it prepared me well for a life away from home at university. Studied for biology, chemistry, physics and maths A-levels and got accepted to Brunel University to read Mechnical Engineering on an unconditional offer (yes I turned down Cambridge!)
At Brunel I studied Mechanical Engineering with Automotive modules (no surprises there then) even though Brunel is best known for its Mechanical Engineering with Building Services. Ironically enough I never worked in the Automotive industry and now work in a Building Services company who specialises in IT systems critical cooling and infrastructure (basically the big data centres), they also do a lot of other supporting roles within Building Services (e.g. building maintenance). And what do I do in amongst all of this. I am responsible for all their Health and Safety reporting directly to the Directors.

I can't believe I left Spring Grove 24 years ago! I remember the day so clearly! In the time since then I spent 6 happy years at Ashford School, followed by 5 years at King's Canterbury and another 5 at Exeter University.
I have finally moved back to the local area and now have a daughter who I would dearly love to go to Spring Grove.
I wonder if the log cabin still exists? It was built while I was at the school, and we buried a time-capsule underneath it.

I stayed living and going to School in Kent before heading to college in London around 16. Ahhhh, life truly began! University in Oxford then followed before I worked as a bar mananger in Oxford and Bristol for 3 years. A job in the city in London then followed before I upped and left to live and study in Australia for 3 years where I studied and worked in Complimentary Healthcare. I'm now back in London and have my own business (Balance Bodyworks). Still feel as young and as silly as I did at SG and having just been to reunion and caught up with some old classmates I feel ever youthful!
SG years were fantastic!

Since i have left SG, i have been at Oakwood Park Grammar and have passed all of my GCSE's and am now taking A-levels. I have passed my driving test and learnt how to party - hard. As WJ once taught me - 'work hard and play hard' although i am sure this has been adapted to 'work hard and play harder'. I hope to move on to the University of East London to study Music Industry Management with Business & Finance. I couldn't make the Springgrovian's Day today as i have exams all of next week, but i hope to come to future events. Take care.
