Spring Grove is of course a family school and a large number of parents meet on a regular social basis. The school benefits hugely from the involvement of parents and their commitment to improving the school. Mums and Dads support the staff by helping with school trips, by generously giving time to support the teachers. One of the great events in the year is the parent and child camp night held during the summer term when families are invited to pitch their tents on the school playing field and enjoy a summer barbecue and each others’ company! An occasional cricket team of dads takes the field against local opposition.
Camp Night at Spring Grove
The PTA is the official arm through which the parents can lend their invaluable support. The PTA has been behind a Spring Grove spring clean that cleared the grounds, undertook valuable garden repair work, and revitalised parts of the school hitherto untouched! The PTA organises a range of social evenings including quizzes, race nights and dance events. The PTA was behind the recent Local Business Show that took place at the school in the summer which offered networking opportunities. The PTA supports all school events such as sports day, school plays and Springgrovian Days. The PTA also organises an annual ball that is the best social event in Kent.
Through its fundraising activities the PTA has supported major initiatives such as the refurbishment of the school swimming pool as well as providing gifts for the school that enhance the quality of educational provision.
It costs nothing to become a part of the PTA. All parents are invited to share in the activities and become an active member. Please let us know your areas of expertise and please join in. You will have great fun becoming part of the Spring Grove Family!
