26 children from Year 3 to Year 6 ran in the cross country championships. There were 46 schools represented and over 1140 children in total running. It was held on Canterbury University sports fields. Over 90% of Spring Grove children finished in the top half of their races. All 26 children were able to run the distance! The Year 3 and 4 children ran 800m and the Year 5 and 6 ran 1600m.

Every child ran superbly showing guts and determination.

Special mention must be made of EDWARD LAWLOR who is the new Year 5 Kent Primary Schools Cross Country Champion!!!! He won his race by about 300m from over 120 other boys!!

EDWARD LAWLOR, WILLIAM PARKER and JACOB SALIBA WILLIAMS won the silver team medal!!!!

We have some excellent runners coming on at the lower end of the school. With their enthusiasm, talent and organised training they could find themselves in the team medals next year.

Godinton Fun Run

Wednesday, 7th February

For more pictures see the slide show

On Wednesday, 7th February the X-Country squad went to Godinton for a 'Fun Run'.
It was a beautiful, clear, sunny, cold day.

The 26 children walked the course across fields, by a river, through a wood and up through gardens before running it.
Parents lined the route. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and ran very well all managing to run it and all finishing strongly.

Thank you to Mr and Mrs Sandford who hosted it.
