Return to the South Pole
In 2008 / 2009, Henry Worsley led a 3-man party to the South Pole. Many of you will remember the strong link with Spring Grove. Today, Henry Worlsey returned to the Antarctic again, this time to take part in the Scott-Amundsen centenary Race.

Holiday Journals
I have been enjoying the Holiday Journals that some of our children have written about their exciting summer experiences. One young Year 2 girl seems to have enjoyed her time on the beach.

Active Cricket
Active Cricket will return to Spring Grove at the start of the Autumn Term and continue the Friday afternoon sessions. We aim to run two groups: a junior group and a more advanced development group.

The Event in the Tent was a great success. It incorporated our brand new House Enterprise day which allowed the children to show their excellent teamwork, innovation and creative skills.
Congratulations to Chaucer House for becoming Champions for their innovative cafe and refreshment stand.


Future of Wye College
A vitally important meeting was held this week in Wye concerning the future of Wye College. A group of local parents have got together to look at the feasibility of starting a new secondary school in Wye.
All Spring Grove parents should take an opportunity to read the proposals and visit the appropriate website in which there is an important questionnaire.

Royal History Quiz
Prince William's marriage to Kate Middleton is just 3 weeks away. In order to prepare for the great event you are invited to have a go at the Spring Grove history quiz. There are 50 questions with a maximum score of 10o marks. Every question has a royal connection; some are easy, some need careful research.

National Championships and Kent Primary Schools Championships News
Following the amazing success at the National Championships, the Spring Grove cross-country team underlined its dominance by claiming 8 medals at the Kent Primary Schools Championships last Saturday.
