Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships and bursaries

Find out about scholarships and bursaries offered at Spring Grove School.

Scholarships
Scholarships may be offered to outstanding candidates who show all-round talent, ability and potential. When applying for a scholarship, candidates are encouraged to submit evidence of any special interests or strengths, for example in music, art, drama or sport.

Scholarships are being offered for Year 3, 4 and 5 entry in September 2021 – Scholarship information can be found here and should be read alongside the Scholarship and Bursaries policy. The deadline for applications for scholarships is Wednesday 10 March 2021, and scholarship assessments will be held on Wednesday 17 March. Details of the application process and the link to an online form are included in the Scholarship information.

The annual scholarship assessment day is designed to test a candidate’s potential and ability, but it is also a chance for the children to experience life at Spring Grove. Our aim is to make the day as relaxed as possible and we hope that it is a fun and positive experience for everyone who takes part. If Covid-19 guidelines do not permit us to invite candidates into school, the assessments will be held online.

Wherever possible, candidates are encouraged to come for a taster day before the scholarship assessment day – please contact Mrs Nicky Lee-Browne our Head of Admissions to arrange this (admissions@springgroveschool.co.uk or call 01233 812337).

Bursaries
Unlike scholarships, bursaries are means-tested, and are designed to give financial assistance to families who would not otherwise be able to send their child to Spring Grove School. A limited number of bursaries are available each year. Bursaries may be awarded to supplement a scholarship or simply as a means of supporting pupils and their families to access the school in the short or long term (all awarded bursaries are reviewed annually).

Bursary awards at Spring Grove School are subject to a parental means test, which takes into account savings, investments and realisable assets as well as income, and are available to pupils from Reception onwards. The amount of bursary award is based on a sliding scale, and awards are made from a limited fund.

For further information please read our Means-Tested Bursaries policy
